Automechanic Clinics
Supported by local automotive shops and other sponsors, our automechanic clinics provide free, basic car services to community members in need. In addition to providing basic repair services during the event, our volunteers teach participants car maintenance skills so that they can safely maintain their cars at home.
Blues to Bluegrass (B2B)
B2B is an organization that hosts a series of benefit concerts; supports NASO efforts, particularly car clinics, emergency response support (providing ICE detainees with clothes); and works with harm reduction organizations, and other causes within the community. B2B collaborates with other community based organizations to rally around other causes. Local talent is showcased, they are paidand the program runs throughout the year.
Bread and Soup
The Bread and Soup program is designed to bring community residents together in a non-threatening, non-political, social environment to share bread and soup and each others company, and to exchange ideas, information and friendship. Food and entertainment will be provided in various locations in the communities to encourage all community residents to attend.
Construction Coalition for the Homeless
With the support of local sponsors, and in partnership with other community-based organizations, NASO hosts regular construction events for homeless communities. Volunteers gather to build temporary stable sleeping platforms for local homeless neighbors. Future workshops will also build safe shelters.
